Privacy Policy

1.Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how RowQ (“RowQ”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, applications, and related services (the “Service”), available at rowqstudy.com.

RowQ is an AI-powered study platform. We treat everyone who uses RowQ the same way: as a user. We don’t ask for your age or date of birth, and the same practices in this policy apply to every account.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

2.Information We Collect

Account information

  • Your name and email address, as provided at signup or by your login provider (Google login or email login)
  • A profile picture, only if Google provides one
  • Login and authentication details, account creation date
  • Subscription and payment status
  • Your preferences — class, subjects, syllabus, theme, difficulty, notifications, and other settings

Learning and study data

  • Subjects, chapters, syllabus, and class selections
  • Questions generated for you, questions attempted, and answers submitted
  • Scores, accuracy, time taken, weak and strong chapters, recommended chapters
  • Study history, practice history, QuestionMaster and Time Practice usage
  • Personalized Assistant outputs — insights, recommendations, reminders, summaries

AI interaction data

  • Your prompts and the AI’s responses
  • Conversation history, chat titles, and related metadata
  • The subject, chapter, and difficulty context of a request
  • Model routing information, token usage, request status, and safety signals
  • Error reports and feedback you send

Competitive and social data

  • Your display name, friend codes, and room codes
  • Match scores, results, timing, and basic opponent information
  • Online/presence status, leaderboard and ranking information
  • Anti-cheat and anti-abuse logs

Payment data

  • Your plan, subscription status, transaction ID, and payment success/failure status
  • Billing metadata from our payment processor, and invoice/refund status
  • We do not receive or store your full card number, UPI PIN, CVV, or bank password — those go directly to the payment processor

Technical data

  • IP address and an approximate location inferred from it (city/region — not GPS)
  • Device type, browser, operating system, and app version
  • Error, crash, performance, request, and security logs
  • Usage analytics — feature usage, page visits, and interactions
  • Cookies, local storage, and session storage (see Section 8)

3.Information We Don't Collect

RowQ does not ask for your date of birth or age (and does not verify age), your phone number, your home address, government IDs, or precise GPS location. We don’t store full payment credentials, and we don’t knowingly ask for sensitive information such as health records, religion, caste, political opinions, or biometric data.

Please don’t submit sensitive information to RowQ, including in AI chats. If you’ve shared something you shouldn’t have, email privacy@rowqstudy.com and we’ll help remove it where we can.

4.How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Run the Service — accounts, login, and the features you use
  • Personalize learning — generate questions, track progress, identify weak and strong chapters, and power the Personalized Assistant
  • Operate AI features — process prompts, route them to a model, return answers, and store history so chats sync across your devices
  • Run competitive features — matches, leaderboards, friend and room codes
  • Handle payments — apply plan limits, confirm payments, process refunds
  • Keep RowQ safe — detect and prevent abuse, cheating, spam, and fraud; debug problems; enforce our Terms
  • Improve the Service — analyze usage to fix issues and improve features and AI quality
  • Communicate — service, security, and billing messages, plus optional updates you can opt out of
  • Meet legal obligations

6.AI Chats — How They're Stored

Your AI chats are saved so you can reopen past chats, continue conversations, and sync history across devices.

Not end-to-end encrypted

Chats are stored on our systems and are not designed to be hidden from RowQ. Authorized personnel and automated systems may access conversations when necessary — for support, debugging, safety, abuse prevention, moderation, legal compliance, or enforcing our Terms.

Access is limited. No one manually reads every chat. Automated systems may review interactions to detect unsafe outputs, abusive prompts, spam, and misuse. Staff access happens only when there’s a genuine need.

AI providers process your inputs. To generate responses, your prompts and relevant context are sent to third-party AI model providers, who process them to return a result under their own terms.

Don’t put passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information into AI chats.

7.What Other Users Can See

RowQ’s competitive features are social by design. When you play PvP battles or appear on leaderboards, other users may see your display name, match results, scores, rankings, and competition status. Pick a display name you’re comfortable showing — not your full real name or personal details. Matchmaking happens only through room codes and friends you’ve added. If you’d rather stay out of social features, simply don’t use them.

8.Cookies, Local Storage, and Analytics

We use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies for:

  • Sessions and security — keeping you signed in, protecting against fraud and abuse (essential; can’t be switched off)
  • Preferences — theme, class, difficulty, and interface settings
  • Analytics and performance — product analytics and error monitoring tools collect event data (feature usage, page visits, interactions, errors) so we can debug and improve. Depending on configuration, these tools may record how pages are used (clicks, navigation) to diagnose interface problems; where that’s active, we aim to mask sensitive fields such as passwords and payment inputs.

We do not use advertising or ad-targeting cookies. You can manage cookies in your browser settings — blocking essential ones will break login and core features. Where a consent banner is shown, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies and change your choice later. Where required by law, we aim to honor recognized browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

9.How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:

  • With service providers who run parts of the Service for us — hosting and infrastructure, database and authentication, AI model providers, payment processing, analytics and error monitoring, and security/content delivery — under terms that limit their use of the data. Specific providers may change over time.
  • With other users, only the competitive information described in Section 7.
  • With your login and payment providers, to authenticate you and process payments.
  • For legal reasons — complying with law or lawful requests, enforcing our Terms, and preventing fraud, security, or safety issues.
  • In a business transfer — if RowQ is acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of it, under this policy or a successor.
  • In aggregated or anonymized form that can’t identify you.

10.Data Retention

  • Active accounts: While your account is active, we keep your account information, study history, and AI chat history so you can reopen chats and view your history — subject to the periodic data cleanup below.
  • Inactive accounts (1 year): If you don’t use your account for 1 year, we delete the account and its associated data. Before this happens, we send you reminder emails so you can keep your account simply by logging back in.
  • Periodic data cleanup (2 years): To manage storage and avoid holding old data longer than necessary, we periodically clear older activity data — such as AI chat history and older practice and question logs beyond 2 years. Your account stays active and you can keep using RowQ normally; we keep your overall progress summaries (such as accuracy and weak/strong chapters) so your tracking isn’t reset, and we notify you before a cleanup where appropriate.
  • Deleted accounts: When you delete your account (or it’s deleted for inactivity), account-linked data is removed from our active databases. Limited information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, and legally required records until it cycles out on its normal schedule.
  • Payment and legal records: We keep payment, invoice, tax, and other legally required records for as long as the law requires, even after account deletion. These are not affected by the cleanup above.
  • Aggregated or anonymized data may be kept for analytics and improvement.

11.Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may be able to: access and update your account information; delete your account; request correction or deletion of your data; withdraw consent; object to or restrict certain processing; request a copy of certain data; and complain to us or a data protection authority in your region.

Email privacy@rowqstudy.com to exercise any of these. We may verify your identity first, and we’ll respond as the law requires. Deleting your account will affect your ability to use RowQ.

If you’re a parent or guardian and want to review, correct, or delete the data linked to an account, email privacy@rowqstudy.com — we may take reasonable steps to confirm your request before acting.

12.Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account from within the Service or by emailing support@rowqstudy.com. Deletion removes account-linked data from our active databases; your history and chats are lost and generally can’t be recovered. Some limited information may remain briefly in backups or legally required records, as described in Section 10.

13.Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure authentication, permission-based access controls at the application and database level, protection of credentials and secrets, monitoring and logging, rate limiting and abuse prevention, backups, and restricted staff access on a need-to-know basis.

No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting you occurs, we’ll notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires. Report security concerns to security@rowqstudy.com.

14.Global Access and Data Transfers

RowQ is available globally. We and our providers may process and store data in India and other countries, so your information may be processed outside your own country, where data protection laws may differ. Where we transfer data across borders, we protect it as applicable law requires. Your rights may vary by region. Please use RowQ only where the laws that apply to you permit it and, where those laws require, with a parent or guardian’s involvement.

15.Communications

We send service messages (security, account, and billing notices) while you have an account. Optional messages, like product updates, can be opted out of anytime via the unsubscribe link or support@rowqstudy.com.

16.Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy — for new features, new providers, or legal changes. We’ll update the “Last Updated” date, and for significant changes we’ll give notice in the Service or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept it.

17.Contact

For formal grievances, see Grievance & Contact.
